Creative Enery-Scapbook Style.. I've even come up with a name...

I don't know what it is lately, but I have this urge to pull out my sketch pad, sharpen my pencils, and design some scrapbook pages. Maybe it is the overwhelming feeling that I don't want to clean house, cook, or do any of the other tasks that fall under the "wifey" category. It could also be the extreme heat that we are experiencing in Vegas. But, on a side note, I vowed that when we moved to Vegas I would not complain about the heat. It's definitely better then the alternative, shoveling 6'ft of snow off my car at 4:00 am to get to work by 5:00 in Tooele.
So, as I have been enjoying the creative mojo flow, I have decided to take some of these ideas and to share with others. If you are interested in a pre-made kit let me know. Over the past two days I have made a "Best Friends" which is $6 and "Fall Fun" kit which is $10.
Reedom Elementary located in Mt. Edge will be having their second annual "PTA Craft Fair" in November. I am planning on having a booth that day and I am trying to complete about 50 pre-made kits between now and then (more now then later). As these kits come available I will post them. As I was laying in bed last night after finishing the second kit I was having a hard time falling asleep. I thought about either designing another blog or a web page to display these to sell. I'll work on that... :D
As I post these kits if you see one you like let me know. Also, if you would like me to design a specific pre-made kit for you let me know and we can work out the details.

Dancin Dayz-Rancho Mirage July 2009

Last week we traveled to Rancho Mirage, CA for a dance competition. We had a fun time and the girls did a fantastic job. They scored high in all 3 routines and were really proud of their performances. We left Vegas on Thursday and checked in to the Knotts Berry Farm Resort Hotel. It has been ages since I have been to Knotts Berry Farm. After checking in we headed off to the beach. The weather was perfect and KyLee was right there jumping waves and dodge body surfers. Sawyer didn't want much to do with the ocean. But, I carried her out and showed her how fun the water was until I wasn't paying attention and a wave came in up and over our head. After that she was done and stayed on the beach as far away as possible. On Friday we were early and headed over to Knotts. We had a great time riding all the rides and seeing a couple of Peanut shows. At first Sawyer did want to ride any rides we tried to persuade her on. To many bad memories from our many outing to the Adventure Dome! :D But soon we found some rides for her to go on and she had a blast. We ended up riding every ride in Knotts that day with the exception of three. Not to bad for a one day event. Friday night we headed out to Rancho Mirage. The girls were exhausted and sleep the 90 minute drive. It was a nice relief after a long day. Saturday morning we were up bright and early for KyLee's Hip Hop competition. She was so happy with her routine. She commented that, that was by far the best she had ever done that dance. It showed she was fabulous. After she had a long break until her Production routine so we drove down to downtown Palm Springs for lunch. One word HOT!! The car read 116 and you could tell. We found this cute little 50's diner. Good food! After, we headed back to the hotel to fix the makeup that had melted off Ky's face and went back over for her next dance. This has been a dance that the girls have struggled with from time to time. All I can say is that they were awesome. There are some difficult moves and costume change during the routine and the pulled it off and scored really high. They were all happy the did so well. Later that night the jr. girls all headed down to the pool for their own pool party. It was so wonderful to sit and enjoy the company of the other parents and swim in the pool with Sawyer. The weather that night was perfect and the water reminded me of Lake Powell. It was fab after two long days. On Sunday we were up and at it again. We checked out of the hotel and headed back over to the resort for KyLee's Jazz routine. Again, they did a great job and was very happy with their performance. After we headed home. We had a fun time and I am so proud of KyLee. She was fantastic!

4th of July-2009

This year we spent the 4th of July weekend here in Vegas. Cody had to work and had a bbq for his customers. The girls and I headed over to see how he was fairing in the heat. After Cody got home we took the girls over to swim and cool off ourselves. Slowly but surely we are adjusting to the heat again Vegas. We took the girls out to dinner and then sat at the top of our street that overlooks the Las Vegas Strip and enjoyed all the fireworks display from the back of the truck. What a great view and the girls had a great time running around in the dirt playing. It was nice to be outside and enjoy the cooler evening weather.
